We tried to warn you.
The covid vaccine clinical trials were NOT designed to determine if the vaccines prevented transmission or infection.
“BREAKING: In COVID hearing, #Pfizer director admits: #vaccine was never tested on preventing transmission.”
Despite what may seem to be a shocking headline, this is not new information. The covid vaccine manufacturers did not hide the fact that the earliest clinical trials were not designed to determine if their products could prevent transmission or infection of SARS-Cov-2. Yes, getting vaccinated for others was an absolute lie, but the manufacturers never hid the information. The lie - which was never challenged by the media - came directly from public health officials and was repeated in Louisiana by our governor, state legislators who actively promoted the vaccine, and colleges/universities.
Let me repeat: THE CLINICAL TRIALS WERE NOT DESIGNED TO DETERMINE IF THE VACCINES PREVENTED TRANSMISSION OR INFECTION, OR IF THEY REDUCED HOSPITALIZATIONS OR DEATH.

As early as October of 2020, British Medical Journal Senior Editor Dr. Peter Doshi pointed to the shortcomings of the clinical trials when he stated:
“None of the trials currently under way are designed to detect a reduction in any serious outcome such as hospital admissions, use of intensive care, or deaths. Nor are the vaccines being studied to determine whether they can interrupt transmission of the virus.”
This information was also readily available in the FDA Briefing documents for Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen.
The Pfizer FDA Briefing document was released on December 10, 2020, prior to the VRBPAC meeting where the initial emergency use authorization was granted. We shared this information on our social media channels repeatedly, which made the continual assertions by public health officials that “getting the vaccine will protect you and those around you” incredibly frustrating and infuriating.
These are just a few of the posts we shared pointing out the falsehoods of the promoted benefit of the covid vaccines:
Meanwhile, the Louisiana Department of Health was distributing this information in December of 2020 (click on the photos below for video):
If WE knew what the briefing documents stated about transmission and infection, why didn’t the Louisiana Department of Health?
They did know.
In a memo dated May 13, 2021 to Louisiana covid vaccine providers, State Health Officer Dr. Jospeh Kanter and Dr. Frank Welch state:
“At this time, there are limited data to address whether the vaccine can prevent transmission of the virus from person to person.”
We shared the memo in the post below:
While LDH was using coercive and manipulative tactics, and quite frankly blatantly lying, to increase vaccine uptake, they knew all along that there was no data to support claims that the vaccine would prevent transmission, or “protect other people,” as this memo proves.
In a press conference on May 20, 2021, just a week after this memo was written, LDH epidemiologist Theresa Sokol brought her daughter to Governor Edwards’ press conference. By the way, it grieves me to have to refer to an individual’s child, but Ms. Sokol brought her daughter into it by bringing her to the press conference for the express purpose of sharing her experience in the covid vaccine clinical trial. As the daughter did so, she expressed gratitude that she could “protect myself and also other people and just it’s a feeling of relief.” She went on to describe the mental anguish caused by social isolation and how the vaccine will play a role in alleviating that.
As we’ve established, none of the clinical trials were designed to determine if the vaccines would prevent transmission or infection. The memo dated May 13, 2021, from Dr Kanter, Louisiana’s Public Health Officer, proves that LDH was aware of the limitations of the data and yet they were very willing to provide a false hope and a false sense of security to the citizens of this state. Almost a month later on June 17, 2021, Governor Edwards would kick off a lottery campaign to increase vaccine uptake. Minors were included in this incredibly unethical scheme to incentivize the use of an experimental drug.
The governor would not admit publicly that the vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection until an August 2, 2021 press conference, but even then he rationalized that it was the power of the variant and not the ineffectiveness of the drug. He stated:
"Based on recent CDC data, vaccinated people who do get infected have just as much virus in their systems as unvaccinated people, meaning they can likely spread the virus simply because of the power of the Delta variant."
Dr. Joseph Kanter added:
"[I]f you are fully vaccinated and do become infected, then you can still relatively transmit the virus" and that "you will have just as much virus in your body as the early days of the pandemic as someone who was unvaccinated."
Despite this announcement, colleges and universities would go on to require the shot for school attendance - many are still requiring it in addition to boosters - and Governor Edwards would add the covid vaccine to the list for school attendance, initiating the rule change in September of 2021, even though he knew and the Louisiana Department of Health knew that the vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection.
Louisiana revised statute 17:170 A(1)(a) clearly states that vaccine requirements for school attendance are for “vaccine-preventable diseases.”
“Each person entering any school within the state for the first time, including elementary and secondary schools, kindergartens, colleges, universities, proprietary schools, vocational schools, and licensed day care centers, at the time of registration or entry shall present satisfactory evidence of immunity to or immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases according to a schedule approved by the office of public health, Louisiana Department of Health, or shall present evidence of an immunization program in progress.”
If covid vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection, covid does not fit the definition of a “vaccine-preventable disease” and requiring the shot for school attendance violates state law, as we stated in a letter to Secretary of Health Dr. Courtney Phillips dated October 14, 2021.
LDH continues to play fast and loose with the truth regarding vaccine safety and efficacy. From the egregiously false and misleading claims following the rollout for shots for infants and children that we wrote about earlier to the recent removal of the “unvaccinated” demographic on the LDH covid dashboard when it indicated that more vaccinated people were perishing from covid than unvaccinated, this is not a state agency with an ounce of credibility, integrity, or ethics.
As I stated in the above facebook post, stop trusting these lying liars.
During my December 6, 2021, testimony at the Capitol I shared that “the Louisiana Department of Health is not an elected body, yet they have done more to direct policy in the last 21 months than any other elected body in the state.
At their recommendation, parental rights have effectively been removed by requiring masks in our schools. Their recommendations have violated Constitutionally protected civil liberties, including freedom of religion and right to privacy, and have interrupted commerce and employment stability.”
Fiorella and I have testified at least 25 times before the Louisiana Legislature, exposing these lies at every opportunity. Leadership has failed repeatedly to do the job set forth in Article I, Section 1 of the state’s constitution: “protect the rights” of the citizens of this state from those who would use a virus to violate our freedom.
