Friends, it is all hands on deck with this HB471!

Your state Senator needs to hear your concerns about this bill ASAP!

What makes HB471 such a horrible bill?

  1. Section 5 of every vaccine insert specifies Warnings and Precautions regarding the necessity of having appropriate medical treatment available during administration and the importance of knowing the patient’s medical, family, and/or immunization history.

    1. Most pharmacies are not equipped to treat life-threatening reactions like anaphylaxis.

    2. Pharmacists do not have the patient’s medical, family, or immunization history. They will not know if a brother or sister has a history

  2. HB471 removes medical care away from family physician to corner drug store.

    1. Are pharmacists going to perform an exam at the pharmacy and take the child’s temperature to make sure they don’t have a fever since fever is a contraindication to giving many vaccines?

    2. Will they know if a child has had a serious or a life-threatening reaction to any vaccine given in the past that would then make them unable to receive future vaccinations?

  3. There are 18 doses of various vaccines between ages 7-17 on the CDC recommended schedule, not including Covid. When you include Covid, it may add as many as  12 to 13 more doses in that time frame.

    1. None of these vaccines have undergone a clinical trial with co-administration of other vaccines. A huge concern is that any side effects that may result from the co-administration of vaccines in a pharmacy will go unreported because the patient will not go back to the pharmacist to treat the side effect, they will go to their doctor.

    2. This bill undermines continuity of care.

HB471 makes vulnerable children even more so by removing basic fundamentals of medical care.

HB471 trivializes very real vaccine risks and serious reactions by moving vaccination for children from the doctor's office to the corner drug store or grocery store pharmacy.
