When informing parents and students about vaccination requirements, how will you ensure that your local school district informs parents of the exemption law, R.S. 17:170(E)? ANSWER: I have been bringing awareness to parents for years concerning their right to “opt out” their children from vaccinations while retaining their right to attend daycare/school. During the pandemic, unvaccinated school children were discriminated against when vaccination status was used to determine seating charts and quarantine policies. This ostracization and marginalizing of children borders on abuse in my estimation.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a manipulative tool to change beliefs and instigate change in behavior. We consider its use a violation of the first amendment and informed consent. How will you ensure that SEL is not used in your school district? ANSWER: As a new board member, I will discover the extent that it is being used in my parish, in addition to the source of its funding. A large part of my campaign is supporting parental rights, and informing parents of the social justice engineering (indoctrination) of SEL taught to children K-12. The data mining of students, via surveys and screenings, is also a large part of SEL. I would inform other board members who are, hopefully, open to learning about SEL and its agenda so that it is opposed and voted down in our parish.
How will you ensure that parents are made aware of mental health issues that are displayed at school (suicidal thoughts, ect.)? ANSWER: I’m supposing that teachers are the first to notice changes in behavior and suicidal ideology in students. Teachers should be encouraged to contact parents with their concerns with the backup of the principal and school board. I don’t yet know what the documentation load is on school teachers in our parish. I support teachers not being unduly swamped with red tape so that they are freed up to notice and address important behavioral changes and notify the student’s parents without fear of reprisal from the parents, principal or school board.

If the "vaccine" is truly a vaccine and everyone around the non-vaccinated person has been vaccinated, then there is NO risk because they are protected with their own vaccine.'
During the pandemic, unvaccinated school children were discriminated against when vaccination status was used to determine seating charts and quarantine policies. How will you ensure that discriminatory policies based on medical status are eliminated? ANSWER: This can only be answered based on the type of "pandemic" we previously had. Obviously if we had a pandemic involving a much riskier illness to children, I would not be opposed to seating charts and quarantine policies. Given the same type of pandemic, I would oppose the closing of schools and the restrictions of activities and social time for these kids. And I would hope that we would be better prepared for a "home school" situation that would allow for those parents who would rather have their children stay home in a protected environment, they would be able to do that as well.'
How are classroom teachers qualified to recommend medical procedures, including counseling, or pharmaceuticals to students outside of parental permission? ANSWER: They are not.'
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a manipulative tool to change beliefs and instigate change in behavior. We consider its use a violation of the first amendment and informed consent. How will you ensure that SEL is not used in your school district? ANSWER: I am not sure what my "power" would be to stop it, however; I make my voice against it be heard.'
How will you ensure that parents are made aware of mental health issues that are displayed at school (suicidal thoughts, ect.)? ANSWER: This is a tough question to answer because there is such a teacher/staff shortage and too many of our students are not feeling "connected" to a teacher or staff member at school. But ideally, I think it is important for every student to have an adult connection at school so that these things are more easily identified and relayed to the parents.'
Don’t see your candidate’s response? Send them the survey! It can be found HERE.
Sent the survey to both candidates running in my district. One of them emailed me back (I didn't send the full link), so at least he will take it. Don't know about the other. Looking forward to the response! About how long will it take to be published?
I am running for school board in St. James Parish District 4 and submitted the questionnaire a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen it posted yet. Thanks, Elizabeth Wahl Andre
