“If your government can coerce you to receive an unwanted medical procedure, the promise of individual rights and freedom is illusory.” Aaron Siri
In 2020, schools across Louisiana adopted covid mitigation protocols that violated students’ constitutionally protected rights—specifically freedom of religion, right to individual dignity, and freedom from discrimination—among various other federal and state laws intended to protect the rights of the individual. We detailed the many laws that were being violated in this letter to Louisiana school superintendents in January of 2022. We included the preamble to Louisiana Children’s Code, the underlying ethic of Louisiana law relating to children, which explicitly states:
“. . .that parents have the paramount right to raise their children in accordance with their own values and traditions; that parents should make the decisions regarding . . . religious training of the child, the medical, . . . and preventive health care of the child . . .”
Motivated by fear and without any supporting data, adults ignored the rule of law and forced children to undergo extreme behavior modification and medical experimentation by masking for hours on end, remaining physically distanced from their peers and teachers, all while under the constant threat of being removed from school - despite being completely healthy - if a fellow student tested positive for SARS-Cov-2.
The way adults have treated children over the last two and half years is shameful and, more importantly, illegal (criminal). Medical decisions are inherently personal and in many cases informed by strongly held religious beliefs. The zeal shown by our government in regards to vaccination and masking—a fanaticism unsupported by scientific data—equates to a religion forced upon the people of this country, a clear violation of the first amendment.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . .”
Laws were in place to protect children but they were ignored.
It is imperative that school board candidates understand the law, that it is their job and the role of government to protect the rights of the individual, and that their constituency knows their stance on health freedom related issues - the idea that education, employment, and access to society in general must not be held hostage in exchange for an unwanted medical intervention.
Thank you for this update. Please share what you learn on where the school board candidates stand. We need insight in this most important upcoming election.
