Louisiana's WHO Bill is Signed Into Law and Other Legislative Updates!πΊπΈ
Congratulations to Senator Thomas Pressly, Senator Valarie Hodges, and Representative Kathy Edmonston!
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Governor Jeff Landry signed SB133 into law making Louisiana the first state to restrict its actions in regards to any rule, regulation, fee, tax, policy, or mandate issued by the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and the World Economic Forum. This is timely legislation considering the World Health Organization is currently meeting to discuss the controversial International Health Regulation amendments.
Our friends at Stand for Health Freedom are listening to the World Health Assembly sessions and issuing updates β we highly recommend watching their work for the latest news like the article below. (click on photo)
More great news from Tuesday, May 28th . . .
HB47 by Rep Edmonston β Donβt Be Fooled by Schools! β has passed the senate with a vote of 25-10! Once signed into law, all schools in Louisiana, whether public or private, from daycare to college, will have to inform the parent or student that an exemption is available.
This is the fourth year to advocate for this legislation and we are thrilled it has passed AND that Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley has already instituted measures to get this information in front of schools before the next school year!
Congratulations, Rep Edmonston, on HB47βs final passage!
If you havenβt already. . .
Contact your state senator and ask them to vote YES on HB976 by Rep Chuck Owen! This bill will strengthen patient access to ensure that what happened to our loved ones during covid does not happen again. As Rep Owen says, βIt turns mays into shalls.β
HB976 is scheduled for a Senate floor vote today - contact your senator NOW!
After much wrangling over the long weekend, Rep Kim Coates has been able to get HB467 out of Senate Finance and onto the Senate floor for a vote!
Contact your state senator and tell them you want to be able to purchase unprocessed, uncooked, 100% natural, fresh milk!
Already passed today on the House floor is a resolution by Rep Kathy Edmonston which directs the Louisiana Department of Health to study various factors affecting people with autism.
Congratulations to Rep Edmonston on the passage of HR222!
Introduced today by Rep Beryl Amedee is HR292 which states:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the written report shall contain anonymous data evaluating immunization records in the LINKS Immunization Information System, of infants and children, two years of age or younger, who died suddenly and without explanation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the data shall include immunization records from the 2013 calendar year to present.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the written report shall include the infant or child's age at the time of death, full immunization history, and the date of the infant or child's last immunization and its proximity to the infant or child's time of death.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana Department of Health shall collaborate with relevant state and federal agencies and medical and public healthcare experts to ensure that its study is conducted with the highest level of scientific rigor and integrity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this state shall allocate the necessary resources and funding to support the study required in this Resolution and that the findings be used to inform future policies and practices aimed at reducing the incidence of unexpected deaths of infants and children, ages two and under, in this state.
Many thanks to Rep Beryl Amedee for introducing this much needed study.
Finally, many thanks to Senator Pressly for allowing us to be present when SB133 was signed into law on Tuesday, May 28th! It was a thrill and an honor!
