Things are moving FAST in the Senate!
As we shared with you yesterday, after intense public and legislative pressure, HB648 was discharged to Senate Judiciary A for a 1:00 pm hearing today. If you follow Health Freedom Louisiana on social media, you know it passed out of committee without objection in less than ten minutes! Perhaps it moved quickly because all Democrats on the committee (Fields, Harris, Luneau) were absent. You can watch the proceedings HERE.
Then, the Senate suspended rules today and moved to third and final passage - meaning it doesn’t have to hang out on the calendar for three days. It is possible that it can be voted on as early as tomorrow!! Because session is winding down, the Senate will convene tomorrow at 5:00 pm.
What can you do?

Subject line: Vote YES on HB648
Message: Protect minors! Opposite-sex hormone therapy with the intended purpose of changing a child’s biological sex is a delusional experiment with irreversible consequences like permanent sterilization, cancer, stroke, brain swelling with risk of blindness, diabetes, heart disease, and who knows what else.
If Louisiana does not pass HB648, vulnerable children from other states will flood Louisiana for treatment - making us a destination state for this incredibly harmful practice. Vote YES on HB648!

*To look up your state senator’s contact information, go here and enter your address. It will list your Louisiana legislators as well as your U.S. Congressmen. Since HB648 is a state bill (not federal), we need you to contact your Louisiana state senator. Once you’ve entered your address you’ll see a list like the one below. Your Louisiana state senator is the one that says “Louisiana Senate District.” Click on that name and it’ll bring you to his/her page with his/her contact information.
