Calls to Action for Wednesday, April 24th!🇺🇸
FIVE health freedom bills are in committee on Wednesday, April 24th!
Let’s get busy, friends! Tomorrow is a monumental day at the Capitol! Four critical bills will be heard in House Health and Welfare and another in House Education.
In 2023, it came to light that Louisiana’s minor consent law violated parental rights and left minors vulnerable to harm at the hands of unconscionable practitioners. Rep Dodie Horton is addressing these concerns with HB256 which ensures that minors cannot consent to medical services or surgery and ensures that parents have access to their minor child’s medical records.
HB256 by Rep Horton is in the House Health and Welfare Committee on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:30 am in Room 5! Please send a statement of support to the committee today!Â
In 2023, Representative Chuck Owen went to bat for Louisiana families to ensure they would never again suffer and die alone while patients in a healthcare facility. His efforts were scaled back last year by the legislature, specifically Senate Health and Welfare. Â This year, Rep Owen is once again determined to protect Louisiana families from the unthinkable policies that kept families apart at the most critical time of their lives. Â Â
HB306 by Rep Chuck Owen intends to strengthen the legislation passed in 2023 to further ensure that patients will have access to loved ones while in hospital or residential care. We need to be able to have contact with our loved ones in the hospital!!
Send a statement to the committee and let them know you support HB306! If you are able, please attend House Health and Welfare on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:30 am and submit a green card in support of this vital legislation.
HB711 by Rep Jay Gallé ensures that parents and guardians receive prior, uncoerced, fully-informed consent for vaccination of their minor child as legally required by the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA).
HB711 also ensures that ONLY parents or legal guardians make this important medical decision for their children.Â
Federal law requires that parents receive important information, prior to vaccination, called a Vaccine Information sheet (VIS). Because healthcare providers and vaccine manufacturers are not liable for injuries that occur as a result of vaccination, fully-informed consent is vital. HB711 will ensure that parents receive this crucial information.Â
HB711 will be heard by the House Health and Welfare Committee on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:30 am in Room 5. Please send a statement in support to the committee now!
During covid, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) produced countless advertising and promotional materials for masks and covid vaccines that were not in compliance with FDA requirements. The issue was so concerning that HFL filed a formal complaint with the FDA and detailed the violations in the substack article below.
Rep Beth Billings has filed HB815 which would require LDH to follow FDA rules and regulations when promoting or advertising drugs and pharmaceuticals. This bill is in House Health and Welfare tomorrow, April 24th, in Room 5 at 9:30 am.
Email a statement of support to the committee today and ask them to require truth in advertising from LDH!
During covid, students across the state experienced discrimination based on their vaccination status at school in all of the ways listed in the prohibited acts.
Those who have received a vaccine must acknowledge that if the vaccine works, there is no reason to treat a child differently.Â
No child should be discriminated against based on their vaccination status - they have enough to worry about without worrying about this.Â
This bill will be heard in committtee on Wednesday, April 24th, at 9:30 am in Room 1. Send a statement of support for HB908 to the House Education Committee and prohibit discrimination based on their vaccination status.Â
