All Eyes on the Biggest Health Freedom Bill of the Session: HB555 Hits Committee
Now is the time to contact the committee and your state legislators!
This is a HUGE week for health freedom in Louisiana as multiple, critical bills head to committee—including measures to protect medical choice, informed consent, food freedom, and financial independence. From the Right to Refuse EUA drugs, to off-label prescribing protections, to gold and silver currency, to the Louisiana Food Freedom Act—these bills put power back in the hands of the people. Now is the time to raise our voices and show up for freedom. Let your legislators know: Louisiana stands for bodily autonomy, transparency, and choice.
Below are FIVE Calls to Action!
Four of the five bills will be heard in the House Health and Welfare Committee on Wednesday, May 7th in Committee Room 5 at 9:30 am. Let’s look at those bills first. If you can, be there in person so you can submit a green card in support!
The Louisiana Medical Freedom Act, HB555 by Representatives Amedée and McCormick, is by far the biggest and boldest health freedom bill of the session. It draws a clear line in the sand: No Louisianan should be denied employment or access to services based on medical choices.
This bill protects the right to refuse a medical intervention—including vaccines and face masks—without penalty or discrimination. HB555 reclaims the foundational right of informed consent and restores dignity, autonomy, and legal protection to individuals and families across the state. If you believe in medical freedom, this is the bill to fight for.
HB555 is in the House Health and Welfare Committee on Wednesday, May 7th, Committee Room 5 @ 9:30 a.m.

Representative Kim Coates' HB150—the Louisiana Food Freedom Act—will be a major win for Louisiana’s local food producers and families seeking food freedom!
By protecting the right to make and sell food outside the industrial system, HB150 empowers families, farmers, and small-scale producers to take control of their health, support local economies, and resist dependency on centralized food chains.
It’s about trusting people—not bureaucracies—with their own food and health choices.

HB386 by Representative Raymond Crews is in Commerce Committee on Tuesday, May 6th!
Representative Raymond Crews' HB386 —the Louisiana Gold and Silver Currency Act— lays the groundwork for a precious-metal-based monetary system in Louisiana, allowing gold and silver to function as legal currency. It reinforces financial sovereignty, protects private property rights, and provides citizens a hedge against inflation and centralized monetary control.
HB386: Sound Money. Strong Liberty.
