Rep Dodie Horton's minor consent bill gets a floor vote TODAY and HB25 by Rep McCormick is back in Jud A on Tuesday!
Rep Dodie Horton’s HB975 is much needed legislation aimed at protecting parental rights and ensuring minors cannot consent to medical procedures or surgeries. It also ensures that minors are not left vulnerable to harm at the hands of unconscionable medical practitioners - an issue brought to light last year when the Louisiana Legislature fought and won to protect minors from gender affirming care.
This bill is scheduled to be heard on the house floor today! Contact your state representative and ask them to vote YES on HB975!
Rep Danny McCormick’s HB25 will remove civil liability for those businesses that DO NOT mandate an experimental vaccine or those vaccines Authorized for Emergency Use (EUA). Seems like a no brainer, except that is exactly what happened during covid when businesses across the state mandated covid vacciantion while still under EUA. Rep McCormick’s HB25 will be in Senate Judiciary A tomorrow, May 14th. Reminder, Rep Echol’s HB87 died in this committee last week when several republican committee members were in other hearings presenting bills - we need a LOT of support for this bill NOW.
Send a message of support to the committee NOW and ask them to pass this common sense piece of legislation. Vote YES on HB25!
