Two of our favorite bills are in committee tomorrow!
We love HB25 by Rep Danny McCormick! A similar bill by McCormick was vetoed by Edwards in 2021, so you know itโs good!
Historically, business owners and schools have NEVER been burdened with the task of eradicating or minimizing transmission of a respiratory virus. In 2020, the Louisiana Legislature created a dangerous tort situation when it passed laws requiring business owners and schools to follow covid public health guidelines or face possible litigation. This invariably created a situation where employers are more likely to impose vaccine mandates. ย Covid vaccine mandates created chaos and caused a mass exodus of workers, especially in healthcare, as businesses felt pressure to impose vaccine mandates on their employees.ย
HB25 by State Representative Danny McCormick removes civil liability from those entities that do NOT mandate certain vaccinations.
HB25 By Rep McCormick is in Senate Judiciary A on Tuesday, May 7th, at 9:00 am in the John Hainkel Room. Send a statement of support to the committee NOW! If possible, attend the committee hearing and submit a green card in support!ย
We also love HB87 by Rep Michael Echols!
HB87 prohibits COVID-19 vaccine and MASK mandates by imposing a $50,000 fine on large businesses and government entities that mandate - how could we not love this?!?
HB87 By Rep Echols is also in Senate Judiciary A on Tuesday, May 7th, at 9:00 am in the John Hainkel Room. Send a statement of support to the committee NOW! If possible, attend the committee hearing and submit a green card in support!
We are still awaiting a senate committee hearing for HB47 by Rep Kathy Edmonston. If you will recall, freshman legislator Representative Jessica Domangue added an amendment to HB47 that will subvert every parentโs right to determine what is best for their child. The amendment would require that parents who refrain from offering their childโs immunization information to the school would have to have an accompanying medical exam by a physician.
It is very possible that HB47 will be added to the Senate Education Committee agenda for this Wednesday, May 8th โ we will let you know as soon as possible if it is!
If you havenโt yet, contact your legislators and members of the Senate Ed Committee and ask them to remove the Domangue amendment added in the House.
The legislative session is underway once again!! We could really use your help filling up our gas tanks as we make the treck to Baton Rouge to fight for your health freedom!
