2023 Health Freedom Louisiana Champion Legislators
Let's show them our support and help get them re-elected!!
Now that the qualifying period for candidates is over, we want to share with you those legislators we consider to be CHAMPIONS of health freedom! Please show your support by donating time, energy, and/or money to their re-election campaigns! Support from the health freedom community is so very important during campaign season - apathy got us where we are today, it must not continue!! If you cannot donate financially, you can put a sign in your yard, offer to knock on doors, or make phone calls for your health freedom candidate. We’ve designated the legislators in the photo above as champions because they have either carried legislation endorsed by HFL, or have a solid health freedom voting record.
This is NOT an endorsement, rather an acknowledgment of their dedication to health freedom.
Also, NOW is the time to make your health freedom priorities known to candidates for public office, whether state or local. Every official played a part in either continuing covid tyranny or making an effort to halt it.
If your local candidate has not filled out our survey, please ask them to do so.
We want to congratulate these Health Freedom Louisiana Champions who were elected without opposition: Representatives Beryl Amedee (51), Raymond Crews (8), Michael Echols (14), Gabe Firment (22), Phillip Tarver (36), Mark Wright (77), and Senator Jay Morris (35).
The following list of Health Freedom Louisiana Champions have at least one opponent in their race. If you live in their district, PLEASE show your support! Donate time, energy, or money! Also, give them free advertising by placing a sign in your yard or at your business, and share their posts on social media - FREE advertising is the BEST!!
State Rep. Kathy Edmonston, Gonzales, House District 88
Rep. Edmonston has been a CHAMPION of health freedom from day one and has carried MANY of our favorite bills over the last four years including the much needed legislation that requires schools to inform parents and students of the vaccine exemption law. Rep Edmonston has fought for and passed four health freedom bills but ALL were vetoed by Governor John Bel Edwards - a badge of honor considering the covid tyranny JBE has perpetuated for the last several years.

State Rep. Chuck Owen, Rosepine, House District 30
Rep Owen carried the vitally important “No Patient Left Alone Act” in 2023 and we will be forever grateful for his hard work in getting it passed. He was recently awarded the prestigious “Life and Liberty Award” from Louisiana Family Forum for authoring No Patient Left Alone - we offer him a huge congratulations! Rep. Owen has been an outspoken advocate for health freedom and human rights in the legislature. We are grateful for his passion for fair and just treatment for his fellow man and know he is looking forward to righting many wrongs in the coming years if re-elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives.
State Rep. Danny McCormick, Oil City, House District 1
Rep McCormick has fought covid tyranny from day one by spearheading one of the earliest lockdown protests at the State Capitol back in the summer of 2020! Also in 2020, Rep. McCormick was the first state legislator to introduce legislation to prohibit a covid vaccine mandate - a measure that was voted down by the House Health and Welfare Committee as a "solution in search of a problem." In 2022, he carried an extremely popular bill amongst health freedom and education advocates alike: it would prohibit the marketing of pharmaceuticals to minors by state agencies, including schools. We agree with Rep. McCormick’s slogan: he is FOR Louisiana!

State Rep. Larry Frieman is running for Judge, 22nd JDC, Div. A
If we have to lose Rep Frieman in the House, we are glad to see him moving to the bench where his wisdom is much needed. Rep. Frieman introduced legislation that would have provided a means for a patient advocate to administer needed medication if it was being denied by a hospital and, at the first opportunity, Rep Frieman introduced much needed legislation to rein in executive powers during an emergency - vetoed by JBE, of course.
State Rep Valarie Hodges is running for State Senate District 13
Rep. Hodges carried legislation that would’ve prohibited local municipalities from implementing vaccine passports AND legislation that would’ve prohibited banks from implementing discriminatory standards based on environmental, social, and governance standards (ESG). In 2023, Rep. Hodges carried critically important legislation to protect Louisiana property from foreign adversaries - it has already been signed into law!
It is incredibly important that District 13 residents are aware that Hodges’ opponent in this race - Rep. Buddy Mincey - carried the legislation that forced schools to follow covid mitigation rules, including the use of masks!! “NoBuddy but Valarie for Senate District 13!”

State Rep. Dodie Horton, Haughton, House District 9
If re-elected, Rep. Horton will be carrying legislation in 2024 to amend Louisiana’s minor consent law to ensure that parents will be in control of and/or informed of medical interventions for their children. The current law is disastrous and we look forward to supporting the legislation when introduced. Rep. Horton values parental rights, especially in regards to medical interventions and informed consent.

State Rep. Blake Miguez is running for State Senate District 22
From the outset of covid tyranny, Rep Miguez showed incredible forethought by introducing legislation to prevent election tampering by excluding private funds from interfering in our elections. After two JBE vetoes, the measure known as the Zuckerbuck’s bill, will be before voters this fall as a constitutional amendment. Rep. Miguez introduced several other concurrent resolutions in 2020 intended to protect Louisianans from emergency power overreach. We look forward to having Miguez’s support in the senate as he looks to fill the seat vacated by the term-limited Fred Mills, perhaps one of the worst Republicans in the senate.

State Rep. Alan Seabaugh is running for State Senate District 31
Two words: SEABAUGH PETITION! Rep. Alan Seabaugh’s attempts to end JBE’s never-ending public health emergency are legendary and the words “Seabaugh Petition” will live in history as an integral attempt to end covid tyranny in Louisiana. We are thankful for Rep. Seabaugh’s initiative in utilizing an obscure law in the emergency powers act to reopen Louisiana!

But wait! There’s more!
Senator Stewart Cathey, Monroe, Senate District 33
In 2022, Senator Cathey introduced legislation to prohibit workplace discrimination based on vaccination status and legislation that would provide free speech protection to medical professionals who have been silenced by licensing and medical boards. Both of these bills must be passed in future legislatures! We look forward to working with Senator Cathey in the future!
Senator Mike Fesi, Houma, Senate District 20
Senator Mike Fesi introduced several pieces of legislation to protect Louisianans against discrimination or denial of healthcare based on vaccination status. Considering the nightmare scenarios of organ transplant patients being denied lifesaving surgery because of vaccination status this is much needed legislation. Healthcare discrimination based on vaccination status continues to be a tremendous concern and we look forward to Senator Fesi’s continued presence in the senate!

State Rep. Larry Bagley, Stonewall, House District 7
Rep Bagley introduced legislation that caused the governor to threaten the withholding of funding for his district for two years: HCR3 would have suspended the Louisiana Department of Health’s rule change that added the COVID-19 vaccination to the list of required shots for school attendance starting in November of 2022. Also in 2022, Rep. Bagley authored legislation that criminalized discrimination based upon vaccination information.

We cannot thank these legislators enough for their support of HEALTH FREEDOM during this unbelievable era of medical coercion and human rights violations.
Again, NOW is the time to make your health freedom priorities known to candidates for public office, whether state or local. Every office holder played a part in either continuing covid tyranny or making an effort to halt it. If your local candidate has not filled out our survey, please ask them to do so.
